And the pipeline digging has begun. Thanks to San Juan County and their funds, ECFDWCA water system construction project has begun. The new pipeline will connect ECFDWCA water system to the North Star DWA system, and once completed, ECF residents will no longer haul water. Yay!!
ECFDWCA Board requested funds from the 2020 NM State Legislature was included in the 2020 NM state budget and signed by the governor. Board President, Vice President, and Consultant Worthington appreciate local legislators’ support for the additional funds to complete the 574 project.
The 2019 NM Legislative session was disappointing as they failed to allocate any NM Capital Outlay Funds to San Juan County for the construction of the 574 Regional Pipeline Project. The Capital Outlay funding for SJCounty went to fund a film studio project.
News: May 2018–The funds that were allocated for the 574 project were needed for the San Juan County Priority One project. The full funding needed for the NS/ECF/ULP 574 project will not be available for at least one to two years. ECF filed its 2020-1024 ICIP plan so we will be eligible for funding when it becomes available to us.
April 2017–San Juan County has awarded its NM Capital Outlay Funds to North Star MDUA, Upper La Plata DWCA, and East Culpepper Flats DWCA to build the 574 Regional Pipeline Connection Project. SJC will be the fiscal agent and oversee the completion of the project. Phase One ( NSMD connecting to ECFDWCA) will be the first section of the project to be completed. Representatives from each entity will meet regularly to discuss issues and concerns.
